5 The Chapel of Bones, Portugal

If you ever decide that having a bit of fun up against a wall of bones and underneath a hanging skeleton is your kinda thing, look no further. The Chapel of Bones contains and openly displays the bones of 5000 monks, as well as two hanging bodies.

4 The Death Railway, Thailand

More than 90,000 laborer’s and 16,000 Allied prisoners of wars died during the construction of a 258-mile railway between Bangkok and Myanmar in Thailand, providing a horrific and historic backdrop for anyone who wants to get it on while in the vicinity. For bonus points, try having sex on the train while riding the spooky railway for that extra level of excitement

3 Borley Rectory, Essex

If legends of Nuns being buried alive and monks being hung and one of the most haunted houses in Britain sends shivers up your spine then the Borley Rectory built in 1863 is perfect for your Friday the 13th adventures. This location gets bonus points for having four walls and a roof, plus seclusion from others during the night and the rectory looks unbelievably creepy. In fact, it might just be too scary to bang in altogether

2 Aokigahara, Japan

This forest at the base of Mount Fuji has an historic association with demons in Japanese mythology and is the second most popular place in the world for suicides. If you can get over all the potential spirits hanging around, this might be the perfect place for a secret quickie up against one of the trees

1 Pluckley, Kent

Pluckley has been named the most haunted village in England by the Guinness World Records. According to records, the surrounding area has numerous ghosts, including a screaming man who is believed to have worked in the village brickwork and fell to his death, and a highway man who was pinned to a tree in what is now known as Fright Corner. Try getting it on in one of the several B and B’s on offer, or try sneaking into the local church and having a crazy make out session across the altar. You might not manage to stay until morning, but you can certainly give it a go.
