From Sex Addict to Sexually Sober

Steve-O reveled that besides being addicted to a plethora of hard drugs he was also addicted to sex. The comedian and former “Jackass” star revealed that he used sex like a drug, so he decided to go cold turkey. While talking about how long he’d gone without sex while in a sex program that recommended a period of celibacy he said: “I went for a year and three months, which at the end of the day was sexual anorexia. I don’t know if there’s anything healthy about that approach in hindsight.”

He also admitted to going “off the rails again” after his self-imposed period of celibacy ended. “I think it’s kind of like where if you’ve been sober, like, from drugs and alcohol and then you relapse, you kind of can’t enjoy it, or it just gets really bad really fast,” Steve-O said. “I think in the long run, that was the most helpful thing for me because then I was just, like, really ready. That was back in 2016. Then in 2017, I met my girl. Now here I am with, like, really meaningful time under my belt from both drugs and alcohol, and any kind of inappropriate sexual behavior.”
